The Boston Celtics continue to stand out for their front office prowess.

CBS Sports released its latest ranking of the top 30 NBA front offices on Tuesday, placing the Celtics at No. 2, right behind the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The list positions the Houston Rockets at No. 3, followed by the San Antonio Spurs, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Indiana Pacers in the top six.

This high ranking comes as no surprise given the Celtics’ recent track record of building sustained success. The front office has excelled in drafting talent, executing key trades, and fostering player growth, keeping Boston among the NBA’s elite.

At the head of the snake in Boston is president of basketball operations Brad Stevens, who has pressed all of the right buttons since moving to the front office in the summer of 2021.

Stevens made a bunch of difficult decisions this past offseason as he had to part ways with multiple members of Boston's championship core in a cost-cutting exercise. This was a core that Stevens himself constructed, adding guys like Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis to Boston's superstar pair of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, two players who were drafted by Danny Ainge and coached by Stevens.

Even with Tatum sidelined, the Celtics have continued to compete in 2025-26, which says a lot about Stevens's culture, as well as the job that Joe Mazzulla is doing as head coach.
