The Patriots face an important decision this offseason regarding defensive tackle Christian Barmore. New England could release him from the four-year, $83 million contract extension he signed in April 2024.

New England could save $13 million in cap space this season if it releases Barmore with a post-June 1 designation.

If the Patriots decide to part ways with Barmore, they will need to search for a replacement, and turning their attention to signing defensive tackle Logan Hall would be a smart move.

Hall has spent the last four seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but could be looking for a new home this offseason as he will be a free agent.

Pro Football Focus ranked Hall as the 39th-best interior defender out of 134 last season. He performed notably well in run defense, ranking 24th, and also made a solid impact in pass rush, ranking 48th.

Hall would be a great rotational player for the Patriots, and he could come in on the cheaper end, as Spotrac recently listed his market value at around $8 million per season.

New England might consider finding more affordable options along the defensive line while reallocating some salary cap space to address needs on the offensive side.
