Coco Gauff is used to handling pressure points at Grand Slams. Pop-quiz pressure? That’s a different beast.
In a Tennis Channel social clip making the rounds during the Dubai tournament week, Gauff gets asked to name Taylor Swift’s most recent album… and her face basically says, I’d rather return a 120 mph serve. She laughs, stalls, and then lands the line that launched a thousand replies: “the Swifties are gonna attack me.”
“The Swifties are gonna attack me.” 😂

The moment got extra relatable because she didn’t try to fake it. She admitted Swift isn’t really her lane — and after a hint, she got to the right answer (or close enough) and moved on like a pro.
For the record, Swift’s latest album is “The Life of a Showgirl,” which arrived in fall 2025 and had the kind of midnight-release energy that turns shopping into a sporting event. So yes, this is one of those “either you know it instantly or your mentions are about to get spicy” situations.
And here’s the funniest part: Gauff is absolutely a music person — just not in the Swiftie section. Her fandom has been proudly parked in the BeyHive, and she’s had some very main-character Beyoncé moments, including getting acknowledged at a show and meeting Tina Knowles on the Cowboy Carter tour.
Gauff’s resume also helps explain why she can laugh this off. She’s already a two-time major singles champion (US Open 2023; Roland Garros 2025), and she’s still only 21. If she can come back on clay in Paris, she can survive forgetting an album title on camera.
