Indiana Pacers All-Star point guard Tyrese Haliburton has been diagnosed with shingles, adding another challenge to his ongoing recovery from a season-ending right Achilles tendon tear.

The news emerged on Sunday, when Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle addressed the situation before the team's game against the Dallas Mavericks.

Carlisle explained that Haliburton experienced unusual symptoms in recent days while traveling to meet the team in Washington, D.C., prompting his return to Indianapolis. The All-NBA guard will step away from team activities for an estimated 2-3 weeks to focus on rest and treatment.

Carlisle described shingles as "a very painful thing" but stressed that Haliburton will make a full recovery.

Despite the discomfort, the coach noted that Haliburton remains in good spirits and has stayed engaged with the team throughout most of the season, even while sidelined by his Achilles injury.

This latest issue represents a temporary setback rather than a long-term complication, as Haliburton had been progressing well in his rehabilitation, including workouts and pickup games.
